BIOGRAPHY
Adam Davenport focuses his practice on all areas of patent law. In particular, he is experienced in asserting claims of patent infringement in litigation and licensing and in defending against claims of patent infringement, including asserting non-infringement and invalidity positions. Additionally, Adam performs due diligence tasks for clients seeking to acquire patents. He also provides opinion work, such as non-infringement, invalidity, and freedom of use, on behalf of clients. Further, Adam assists his clients in drafting and prosecuting patent applications and is experienced in the re-examination of issued patents. Adam uses his skills as an electrical engineer to perform invalidity searches on adverse patents and his skills as a lawyer to research complex legal issues for various tasks.
While in law school, Adam was an extern for the Honorable Walter Smith, Jr., Chief Judge, for the Western District of Texas. During the externship, he researched complex issues of law and drafted opinions for the court. During his undergraduate time, he was an engineering intern with the Lower Colorado River Authority where he coordinated communications between the Electric Reliability Council of Texas for metering information, designed systems for remote access and control of electrical substations, and designed relaying systems for reliable electrical distribution and transmission. In 2005, he became a registered Engineer in Training.
EDUCATION
Adam graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering with Honors from the University of Texas at Austin in 2005. His technical areas of study were Electronics and Management and Production. He received his Juris Doctor form Baylor Law School in 2008 where he was an Articles Editor on the Baylor Law Review.
MEMBERSHIP
Adam is a member of the State Bar of Texas and is admitted to practice before the Northern and Eastern Districts of Texas. He is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Adam is a member of the Dallas Bar Association and Texas Young Lawyer's Association. He is serving on the Dallas Bar Association Intellectual Property Section New Lawyer's Subcommittee.
