Mark E. Jacobs 博士負責客戶智慧財產權益的建立、保護、與管理。他的背景包括超過 40 年的類比與系統工程師經驗；而且他也名列超過 50 項專利的發明人，涵蓋從控制系統到電路拓撲，再到系統架構的廣泛領域。

基於自己也是發明人的優勢，Mark 可以流暢地與其他發明人共同合作，徹底地理解並描繪他們的發明，並在專利的準備與申請程序上提供指引。在這種背景之下，Mark 善於捕捉發明中的重要精髓，並在完整而有條理的方式下，採用最有力的文字，為專利之精髓取得其獨特性的認可。Mark 曾以客戶的身份與外界法務人員合作過，所以他瞭解為技術與法律步驟和程序之間間隙搭起橋梁的重要性，並時時致力達成這個目標。

Mark 過去所曾擔任過的領導職位，反映出他對於專利相關程序的完備知識。他曾在朗訊科技公司 (Lucent Technologies) 擔任技術經理超過 30 年，領導一個從事電力電子的高級開發團隊，以及一個為電訊系統開發新型電力架構的系統工程團隊。在此期間中的一段時間，他也曾負責管理一個從事以電腦為基礎之飛彈攔截導引的團隊，並擔任技術領導人的角色。Mark 也曾為某 Fortune 50 大企業的電力電子部門，建立並管理一個負責評估專利申請可行性事項的專利委員會。

教育背景

Mark 於 1962 年畢業於卡內基美侖大學 (Carnegie Mellon University) 的電機工程系；並分別於1963 年與 1965 年，取得卡內基美侖大學的電機工程碩士與博士學位。

會員資格

Mark 是電機電子工程師協會 (IEEE) 的資深會員。他曾擔任在美國亞利桑那州鳳凰城舉行之 2000 年度國際電訊能源學術會議 (2000 International Telecommunications Energy Conference) 的大會主席；並曾在過去擔任過該會議之執行委員會的主席。他也曾負責規劃應用電力電子學術會議 (Applied Power Electronics Conference) 的專題討論會。他也曾參與過電源供應器製造商協會 (Power Supply Manufacturers' Association) 的專題研討小組。
