BIOGRAPHY
Steven N. Williams is a trial lawyer who has litigated intellectual property cases for a wide range of clients including telecom equipment manufacturers, semiconductor manufacturers, electronics companies, pharmaceutical companies, building materials manufacturers, consumer product companies, and financial service companies.
Steve helps clients by listening to their needs and understanding their ultimate business goals and objectives. He then collaborates with his clients to develop an effective litigation strategy that will best advance those goals and objectives. Steve assembles teams of nationally recognized consultants and experts having specialized areas of expertise to assist him in explaining to the courts and juries the often complicated technological and other business issues involved in intellectual property cases.
Whether representing clients by asserting their intellectual property rights against infringers, or defending against claims from other parties, Steve approaches every case from the outset with the assumption that the case will go to trial. Accordingly, Steve thoroughly investigates every claim, aggressively develops each fact, and zealously advocates his client's positions at every opportunity.
EDUCATION
Steve graduated from Baylor University with honors in 1988. He received his juris doctor in 1991 from Southern Methodist University, where he had served as a Chief Justice on the SMU Moot Court Board and where he received the American Jurisprudence Award for Trial Advocacy.
MEMBERSHIPS & COURT ADMISSIONS
Steve is licensed in the State of Texas, and is admitted to practice in the Eastern, Northern, Western and Southern Districts of Texas; the Fifth Circuit, Ninth Circuit, Eleventh Circuit, and Federal Circuit Courts of Appeal; and the United States Supreme Court.
